Hark, my friend.
The hushed embrace of a winter morning unfolds gently, coaxing the world into stillness. As the day tiptoes closer to awakening, the muted palette of the morning begins to slowly unveil the colours hidden beneath the icy shroud. The sun is peeking over the horizon, casting a pale glow across the landscape. A serene silence blankets the earth, allowing only the softest of murmurs to grace the surroundings. Only the occasional rustle of a breeze through frosted leaves or the distant call of a solitary bird disrupts this peaceful symphony of quietness. It's a time for introspection, a moment to appreciate the beauty of solitude and tune into the whispers of the heart.
Let’s take three deep mindful breaths together, shall we? Inhale gently feeling the air coming through your nostrils and then slowly exhale.
Breathe in…. Breathe out.
In…Out.
And while you’re cocooned in this morning stillness, let’s invite my husband Nick, who’ll take us on a mental journey to a peaceful oasis known as "Snowflake Serenity”.
In the next 10 min you’ll hear a visualisation. In case, you are not on your own, please, play the recording when the time is convenient. I recommend wearing a set of comfy headphones to enjoy the sound effects. Also, please, fetch your journal to jot down your sensory experience afterwards.
Welcome back to your room. I’d now like you to spare a few minutes to answer the following questions:
*How did the visualisation make you feel?
*What word would you use to describe the snowflakes serenity you experienced in this visualisation?
*How did you feel surrounded by the crystalline elegance of freshly fallen snow?
*What did you notice when the snowflakes landed on your skin?
*Was there a particular scene that illustrated the expanse of nature 's grandeur?
*What thoughts came to your mind while watching the slow steady flow of the water beneath the icy surface of the creek?
*What were you grateful for at the end of this sensory experience?
The visualisation "Snowflake Serenity” is featured in Lesson 1 of our mindfulness course “Winter Rest”. You can access this lesson for FREE here.
May you continue your day carrying this sense of serenity with you.
